The mission of the church is to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). To fulfill our missional purpose, we have a vision (the kind of church we want to become) and values (what is important to make the vision become a reality).
A Clear Vision
Real Love
Matthew 22:37–39 (ESV). And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Real Change
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV). Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Real Life
Galatians 2:20 (ESV) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
What Matters (Our Values)
God
Deuteronomy 6:4–5 (ESV) “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
People
Galatians 6:2 (ESV). Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
God's Word
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
